Resources for Students

I’m sitting here, (hopefully) a few months away from finishing my Dietetics degree, and thinking of all the little crib sheets and resources that might have made my placements a little bit easier.

Of course, it’s all part of the learning experience to create these yourself, but I would have really appreciated seeing someone else’s crib sheets as an example to base mine on. This is why I have created another section of this blog to upload little tips, tricks and ideas from me and other students.

Either use these as a basis for creating your own crib sheets (probably the most useful in the long run as you can add or remove things that are most relevant to whichever area you’re practicing in) or print these ones off to use initially (this might be helpful if you’re going on placement for the first time or just starting out).

These are by no means the best resources to use, and I have to admit that I haven’t actually checked them all against my uni lectures, the Manual of Dietetic Practice or the BDA guidelines – most are just based on experience and from what I’ve picked up on from other dietitians that I’ve worked with.

I’d also like to point out that I am writing this at a time where I’m not yet a qualified dietitian, but my intentions are pure – to help out other students as much as possible – because placement is really hard work and any resources or tips that I could get my hands on were an absolute godsend!

P.S. If you have any crib sheets that you have found helpful I’d love to share them on here and will give full credit to the authors!
